Many flight sim enthusiasts encounter functional issues with their Rowsfire A105 Radio Panel due to firmware version mismatches, often because they are unsure whether their device is running V3 or V3.1. This guide will walk you through step-by-step, using the Mobiflight Configurator software, to accurately identify your device's version and verify the result.
🛠️ Step 1: Locate Your Device in Mobiflight
Open the Mobiflight Configurator software and navigate to the Mobiflight Modules tab in the top menu bar.In the left-hand “Configured modules” list, find your Rowsfire A105 device.

Pay attention to the status icon next to the device name:
For V3 version, the icon is a solid dot

For V3.1 version, the icon is a hollow ring

This icon is your first clue to identifying the version.
📋 Step 2: Check Channel Labels in Firmware
On the same Mobiflight Modules page, expand your Rowsfire A105 device node.
Look closely at the firmware's built-in channel list (such as VHF1 ENCODER, VHF2 ENCODER, COM ENCODER, highlighted in the red box in the example image).
This channel list is determined by the device's firmware, and different versions have different default channel configurations.
🎛️ Step 3: Physical Knob Verification (Final Confirmation)
If your device already has firmware installed, you can perform a final check by testing the physical knob:
Locate the COM/VHF encoder knob on your device (the black circular knob shown in the example image).

Attempt to rotate it:
V3.1 version: The knob has a limited rotation range and can only turn within 360 degrees.
V3 version: The knob can rotate continuously 360 degrees without restriction.
📌 Summary & Next Steps
Identification Order: Start with the status icon in Mobiflight for an initial judgment, cross-verify with the firmware channel list, and then use the physical knob's rotation behavior for final confirmation.
Resolving Firmware Mismatch: If issues persist after confirming your version, provide your version information (V3 or V3.1) to Rowsfire technical support, and they will guide you through re-flashing the correct firmware.
