Setup & the Rowsfire App
6 questions
What's the correct startup order — simulator first or the Rowsfire App first?
Always start MSFS, load your aircraft, then launch the Rowsfire App. This order is officially confirmed for all PMDG aircraft and avoids most power-transfer and sync quirks. Before entering the flight, set your panel switches to match the aircraft's initial state — the panel writes its positions on the first frame, so misaligned switches (e.g. APU GEN) can interrupt the simulated power bus on load.
The App installer reports a "path contains a directory link" error. What now?
This happens when your MSFS Community folder uses a directory link instead of a real folder (common on multi-drive setups). Fix: install the App to its default path, skip the bridge option during installation, then copy the bridge plugin into your Community folder manually. Path handling is being improved in future App versions.
How do I add the bridge plugin to my Community folder?
Two ways: (1) during App installation, choose the option that installs the bridge for you; or (2) install without the bridge and copy the bridge folder into MSFS Community manually. Both work equally well.
LAND ALT / FLT ALT on the flight altitude selector shows 0 and doesn't change (PMDG 737).
Known software sync issue affecting the PMDG 737 (iFly 737 MAX is not affected). Fix: re-flash the firmware and delete the old bridge (.wasm) module, then reinstall the bridge. If it persists, contact support with a short video.
Several switches control the wrong functions (mappings mixed up).
Almost always a stale firmware/bridge mismatch rather than a hardware fault. Fix: re-flash the firmware, remove the old .wasm bridge module from Community, reinstall the latest bridge, and confirm you launched MSFS before the App. If mappings are still wrong, send us a Debug-page screenshot — physical repairs are rarely needed.
I use my own Arduino Mega with MobiFlight. Should I click "Update Firmware"?
Only flash firmware on
your own Mega. Never click Update Firmware on a connected Rowsfire panel from MobiFlight — the panel ships with its own firmware, and a MobiFlight re-flash can lock its download channel (see
Firmware & Recovery below for recovery).

Firmware & Recovery
5 questions
How do I know if my panel is V1 or V2, and which firmware should I use?
Check the version label on the back of the panel. V1 hardware must run V1 firmware; V2 hardware runs V2 firmware. Flashing the wrong version simply won't take effect — if nothing works after an update, re-select the version matching your label. Panels shipped after August 20 come with the V4.0 mainboard and are labeled B107 V2.
My first firmware upload failed and now the panel is dead / not recognized.
Recovery steps in order: (1)
fully exit the Rowsfire App — it holds the COM port and blocks reflashing; (2) follow our
FlyMCU recovery guide (support will send it); (3) if the ATmega2560 main firmware is corrupted, it can be re-flashed via MobiFlight. If the chip is confirmed damaged, we ship replacement chips with soldering guidance, or you can send in just the circuit board for a swap.
Most common cause: selecting the wrong firmware version (V1 vs V2). Check your back label first — it's a one-minute fix.
The panel isn't detected at all — no CH340 device in Device Manager.
Try a different USB port (rear motherboard ports are best), a different USB cable, and plugging in directly without hubs. If only a Bluetooth virtual COM port appears, the cable or port is almost always the cause. Contact support if a cable swap doesn't fix it — we replace cables free of charge and arrange repair for faulty sockets under warranty.
Firmware upload reports a "GD32 bootloader sync error".
This happens when a MobiFlight flash attempt locked the download channel. Fix: unplug the panel and leave it powered off for 1–2 minutes, then retry the upload with FlyMCU. Also make sure the Rowsfire App is fully closed during the flash.
The App won't let my V1 panel update firmware.
V1 panels run V1 firmware only — this is by design, not an error. V1 panels continue receiving V1-line updates. Panels shipped after August 20 (V4.0 mainboard, labeled B107 V2) use the V2 firmware line.

Hardware Care & Assembly
5 questions
Why does screw length matter so much?
The circuit board sits close behind the mounting holes. Screws longer than 10 mm can press into the board and short it — we've seen a case where 14 mm screws made the USB port overheat and the panel stop being recognized. Use M4 screws, 10 mm maximum, for panel and stand mounting.
How do I tighten switch nuts without breaking a switch?
Switch shafts are the most delicate part of any overhead panel. When fitting or re-securing a nut, gently press the panel face around the switch while turning the nut, and stop as soon as it's snug — never crank it down. If a switch still breaks during careful assembly, it's covered: we'll send a replacement switch with our step-by-step swap tutorial.
My desk mount's lower unit is hard to assemble. Is there a guide?
Yes — contact support for the screw size chart with each required screw marked, plus the assembly guide. Matching screw lengths to the right holes makes the lower unit much easier to put together.
The USB socket feels deep and the connection is unreliable.
First, check the mounting screws near the port aren't loose or over-tightened — a loose screw can shift the socket. If the socket is fine, a replacement USB-C cable usually solves it; we ship them free when the cable is the cause. For confirmed faulty sockets, we arrange warranty repair or replacement.
Removing the protective film without scratches?
Peel slowly from an edge, keeping the film flat against the panel. Avoid tools on the printed face — the protective laminate is scratch-resistant, but the acrylic edges are best handled with fingers only.

Gauge Calibration
3 questions
EGT needle shows an offset (e.g. ~150° off) or sits at zero incorrectly.
This is normal for new units — the gauge just needs a one-time zero calibration. In the Rowsfire App, go to the
Settings page and find
Calibration:
On the App home page, click Settings to enter the settings page.
- Select your B107 device.
- Click Open to open the COM port.
- Select the value to adjust — choose 50 to see a visible needle movement.
- Click Move repeatedly, adjusting until the needle points to 0, then click Set Zero.
- With the zero point set, the EGT gauge will display correctly.
Settings → Calibration: (1) select the B107 device, (2) open the port, (3) set Move steps to 50, (4) Move until the needle reads 0, (5) Set Zero.
APU gauge needle points to the top / starts at the wrong position.
Same one-time zero calibration as the EGT. In the Rowsfire App, go to the
Settings page and find
Calibration: select the
B107 device, click
Open, choose
50 as the step value, then click
Move repeatedly until the APU needle points to
0 and click
Set Zero. If the needle doesn't respond to Move at all, contact support — that indicates a hardware fault we'll repair or replace under warranty.
Settings → Calibration: select the device, open the port, set Move steps to 50, Move until the needle reads 0, then Set Zero.
Can I adjust the brightness of individual annunciators?
No — individual indicator lamps aren't separately dimmable. Overall backlight brightness is adjustable from the App. If a specific area looks much dimmer than the rest (e.g. the generator panel backlight), send us photos: that can be a fault worth repairing.

Known Behaviors & Design Notes
5 questions
Why does closing the EMER EXIT LIGHTS guard switch the lights ON instead of ARMED?
This is a known behavior, not a fault. The red guard is a physical cover only — the panel has no hardware trigger to detect "guard closed", so the lights are switched by software when the guard closes. The simplest workaround: leave the switch at
ARMED with the guard open. Some community members cut a small plastic block to hold the guard in an armed-like position (3D-printed versions tend to crack under the guard spring). We are evaluating a software toggle for this behavior and are collecting feedback on which option owners prefer.
Community poll: would you prefer "guard closed = ARMED" logic, or the current real-guard behavior? Tell us at
service@rowsfire.com.
Switching APU GEN interrupts the aircraft's power.
The panel writes switch states on the first frame and on each change. If the panel's APU GEN position differs from the aircraft's actual state when you flip it, the sim sees a mismatched transition and can drop the bus. Fix: start MSFS first, then the App, and align panel switches with the aircraft's cold-and-dark state before moving anything. If it still happens with everything aligned, note which aircraft model you use and contact support.
The APU GEN / ENG GEN switches only respond to a very quick press.
A long press (over ~2 seconds) being ignored is a known software issue —
fixed in Rowsfire App v3.2. Quick presses work normally on all versions. Download the latest App from the
Rowsfire App page.
Standby power light off / captain-side displays blank after starting the App (PMDG 737 cold & dark).
Reported by a small number of PMDG 737-800 users. First check: make sure the aircraft is truly in a matching cold-and-dark state and the panel switches match it. If the issue reproduces with everything aligned, it's under active investigation — send us your App version and a short video and we'll follow up.
I saw a video saying the pressurization window / altitude gauge doesn't work.
That was true for very early units and was
fixed via software — current firmware and App versions run the pressurization display correctly. If yours doesn't, get the latest version from the
Rowsfire App page, then contact support if it persists.

Warranty, Shipping & Service
5 questions
My panel arrived with broken switches / a dead standby power light.
Please photograph the outside, the inside, and the packaging — this lets us file a logistics claim and get you sorted fastest. You choose: replacement parts sent immediately (switches swap in minutes with our tutorial), repair at a service point, or an exchange. Keep all packaging until the claim is settled.
Return shipping from my country is expensive or restricted. What are my options?
You don't always need to return the whole panel. For confirmed chip-level faults (e.g. a damaged 4067 chip), we can ship replacement chips plus soldering guidance, or you send in just the circuit board rather than the full panel — smaller, cheaper, and usually customs-friendly. We'll always propose the lowest-friction option for your location.
What's covered by the 1-year warranty?
Hardware faults and failures under normal use, including switches damaged on arrival and components that fail within the first year. User-caused damage (wrong screws, forced assembly, liquid) is repaired at cost — typically $100–150 for a mainboard swap, quoted before any work. Contact support first: we resolve 95% of issues remotely within 24 hours.
My package is missing the QR code card.
No problem — the same QR code is printed inside the
paper manual, and all resources (configs, firmware, guides) are also on the
Exclusive Resource Hub. To download the latest Rowsfire App and firmware, visit the
Rowsfire App page.
There's a smudge inside the APU display glass, or I scratched the glass while cleaning.
For smudges: the display cover can be lifted carefully for cleaning — support will send the guide (a piece of tape or two fine needles lift the cover without stress). If the glass or support ring gets scratched in the process, replacement covers are available free of charge — just ask.

Compatibility & Roadmap
3 questions
What flight simulators and aircraft are supported?
MSFS 2020 / 2024 and X-Plane 12, with PMDG 737-600/700/800/900, Zibo 737 and iFly 737 MAX. Prepar3D V4, Xbox and Mac are not supported. The Rowsfire App (v2.3+) is plug-and-play; MobiFlight is fully supported with our official config files.
Will the B107 support the PMDG 777? Does it support SPAD.Next?
Aircraft support is being added step by step — the 777 is on the radar. SPAD.Next config files aren't available yet; the demand has been noted and is being evaluated. Follow our News page or join the community for release announcements.
Can I use the B107 for something other than flight sim — e.g. an RV wall decoration?
Yes — one customer runs his B107 as an RV wall panel. Simplest setup: a Windows mini PC with the Rowsfire App in always-on mode for the lights and backlight. Relay control of real RV systems would require custom work — contact us if that's your plan and we'll advise what's feasible.
