Response to the FSElite Review of the Rowsfire B107 B737 Overhead Panel

Recently, the well-known flight simulation media outlet FSElite published a review of our B107 Boeing 737 Overhead Panel.

We have carefully read the article and sincerely appreciate the author’s honest and professional feedback.

We firmly believe that authentic feedback is one of the most important drivers of continuous product improvement.

At the same time, we would like to take this opportunity to provide additional background from both our engineering and support perspectives, and to address the key concerns raised by the community in a clear and responsible manner.

1. Pitot Heat Switch Issue

✔ Root Cause (Identified)

The issue may be caused by:

  • The solder joint of the switch potentially coming into contact with the VESA mounting studs on the metal casing, leading to malfunction
  • In rare cases, external impact during transportation may also contribute to this issue

✔ Occurrence Overview

Based on a survey of customers who received the B107:

  • We received feedback from 5 users reporting Pitot Heat switch failure
  • These cases were limited to a very small number of early-batch units

For all other shipped and unshipped B107 units:
👉 The current occurrence rate is 0

All reported cases have been successfully resolved.

✔ Improvements Implemented

We have implemented systematic improvements to address this issue:

  • Strengthened quality inspection procedures for critical components
  • Introduced transportation simulation testing (shock & vibration)
  • Optimized internal insulation design

👉 This issue has been fully resolved in all subsequent production units

2. Build Quality & Surface Scratches

We fully understand that users have high expectations for build quality, especially in this product category.

✔ Clarification

  • All units are shipped with a protective film applied to the surface
  • In most cases, removing the film restores a flawless appearance

✔ Packaging & Protection Upgrades

For the B107, we have made the following improvements:

  • Upgraded overall packaging structure
  • Added enhanced surface protection layers

👉 Current shipments are highly unlikely to experience surface scratches during transit

3. Knob Design & Tactile Feel

✔ Knob Quality

Currently, three knobs are still undergoing refinement, while all others have already been upgraded to custom-molded designs.

Areas of improvement include:

  • Tactile feedback
  • Resistance consistency
  • Long-term durability

✔ 360° Rotating Brightness Knob

This design is based on technical implementation constraints:

  • Uses an encoder, enabling continuous 360° rotation
  • This approach aligns with
👉 PMDG event input systems, which are optimized for encoder-based controls

✔ Future Improvements

We are actively exploring:

  • Limited-range potentiometer solutions with firmware updates
  • Potential support for potentiometer inputs in collaboration with PMDG

👉 These improvements are already in development planning

4. EGT Gauge Noise

The sound mentioned in the review comes from:

  • An internal micro stepper motor

This mechanism operates similarly to real-world aircraft gauges and is part of the intended realism.

That said, we understand that some users prefer a quieter experience, and this will be considered in future optimizations.

5. Quality Control Statement

We would like to be fully transparent:

Due to a tight shipping schedule, a very small number of units experienced oversights during the quality inspection process

While this does not represent the overall quality standard, we acknowledge that it caused inconvenience for some users.

In response, we have:

  • Conducted a full review of production and QA processes
  • Strengthened inspection procedures at critical stages
  • Improved overall consistency standards

We are confident that similar issues will not occur again.

6. Solutions for Existing Customers

We offer three resolution options for affected users:

1️⃣ Compensation + Self-Repair (Recommended)

  • $30 compensation
  • Step-by-step official video guidance
  • Simple and quick to complete

2️⃣ Local Repair

  • Repair via a local technician
  • Estimated turnaround: ~2 weeks

3️⃣ Return & Replacement

7. Pricing Update

We understand that pricing is an important consideration.

✔ Current Pricing

  • $593 (recently reduced by $40, combined with 10% website discount)

✔ Historical Pricing

  • Early bird price: as low as $559
  • Standard discounted price: ~$630 (≥10% off)

✔ Pricing Philosophy

Our pricing reflects:

  • Hardware R&D costs
  • Small-batch production realities
  • Ongoing support and service

👉 This is not a high-margin pricing model

We are continuously working to make our products:

  • More accessible
  • More competitive

8. Our Approach

We do not avoid issues, and we do not downplay feedback.

Instead, we want users to see that:

  • ✔ Issues are identified quickly
  • ✔ Solutions are transparent and actionable
  • ✔ We take full responsibility where needed

This is the foundation of long-term trust in Rowsfire.

Conclusion

We would like to thank FSElite for their professional review, and the entire community for their honest feedback.

Your input directly drives our product improvements.

Rowsfire’s mission remains unchanged:

To deliver a more realistic, immersive, and affordable flight simulation experience

We will continue refining our products and services to ensure every generation becomes more reliable and more worthy of your trust.
